PowerDsine 6024/6012/6006 og SinglePort er et "Power over Ethernet"(PoE) panel, der gør det muligt at overføre data, telefoni, video og strøm over et standard Cat 5 Twisted Pair kablel. Ved at koble panelerne til den eksisterende infrastruktur, er det med til at sikret tidligere investeringer, der foretages på både kabelsystemer og switchudstyr.


PowerDsine tilbyder en yderst skalerbar løsning med paneler, der har 1, 6, 12, eller 24 porte. Flere enheder kan sammenkobles, hvilket gør løsningen mere enkel og omkostningseffektive, hvis der er behov for at udvide nettet senere. PowerDsinepanelet registrerer automatisk når PoE-udstyr tilsluttes datakablet, og herefter forsynes PoE-udstyret med den korrekte strøm. PowerDsine understøtter 802.3af og er bagud-kompatibel via "pre-standard algoritme."

Plug-and-play. Når nyt udstyr tilsluttes, opdatere enheden automatisk alle registrerede PoE terminaler som er tilsluttet, og forsyner dem med den rette strøm. Panelerne optager meget lidt plads, og er til at montere i standard 19" rack. Panelerne kan også fås med mulighed for avancerede managementfunktioner.

Man kan også prioriterer hvilke porte, som skal have strøm(maximum available power, port prioritet, and maximum allowable per port). PowerDsine enheder kan bestilles med SNMP management. Med SNMP management får man mulighed for online overvågning, konfiguration og kontrol af PoE-udstyr.

Solutions
Power-over-Ethernet allows IP telephones, wireless LAN access points, surveillance cameras and other enterprise terminals to safely receive power over standard category 5 LAN cabling, without modification to existing infrastructure. PoE is already widely adopted in the market providing for faster, less disruptive and more flexible powering scheme than AC whilst saving up to 80% of overall installation costs. In summary: Ease of Deployment, Improved Network Reliability, Cost savings and Safety. PowerDsine’s portfolio consists of:

    • Midspan: an intelligent PoE injector installed between an Ethernet switch and end-devices like IP Phones, IP cameras and WLAN access points. The midspans are exclusively approved by Cisco to provide an end-to-end, reliable power solution for their IPT and WLAN products in existing and new infrastructures.
        • 3001/3001G/3006/3012/3500-series for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) (10/100 base-T; 1, 6 or 12 ports especially for WLAN, VoIP and IP Security)
        • 6000/6000G/6500-series Enterprise (10/100/1000Base-T; 6, 12, 24 or 48 ports for  WLAN, VoIP, IP Security)
        • 8000-seriesHigh Power Solutions, like:
            • Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) IP Cameras, with power requirements: 7-12W and Security Access Devices with power requirements 8-12W.
            • Video phones: for example the Cisco 7985G with a Power Requirement of 10-12W.
            • Dual Band Access Points (20W and above needed, wide coverage WIMAX applications consider PoE) 

    • PowerView: a web-based remote management system offering real-time monitoring and control, with graphical representation, status indicators, alarms and SNMP traps.

    • Splitters: splitters enable easy integration of the PoE technology into legacy equipment.

Evaluation Products
The PowerDsine Power-over-Ethernet Tester (PD-TESTER), connected to a RJ-45 outlet, tests the cabling infrastructure for the presence of power, either IEEE802.3af standard-compliant or pre-standard.
